Growing or Dying

Often when people create their plan for the year they focus on business results, physical results and/or personal results…do you have a plan for GROWTH results this year?

We have all heard the saying, “you are either growing or you are dying” and yet most of us aren’t purposeful about our growth. It is easy to get caught up in the busy-ness of life and forget to set aside time for yourself.  You cannot give to others when you are depleted.  It’s important to fill yourself up first, to satisfy the need to grow and learn, so you can overflow your gifts to others.

Here are some tips for GROWTH in 2015:

  • Create a spreadsheet – Outline your annual objectives for GROWTH in advance (attached is a sample Growth Plan you can use – it is rudimentary but it works)
  • Prepare before learning – Create a state (physiology, language and belief) for absorbing your GROWTH material
  • Time-block – If it’s not in the schedule it doesn’t exist, so set aside daily/weekly time for GROWTH
  • Schedule training events/webinars – Pick 2-4 GROWTH events to attend this year and schedule them NOW (here are links to LMT Consulting Events and Tony Robbins Event Schedule 2015.  Both are subject to change. Check back often for additions.)
  • Create a wish-list – Create a wish-list of books for the year and check them off as you read them (here are some books from my bookshelf)
  • Journal distinctions – Take 15 minutes following each growth activity to journal your distinctions so you can reference them throughout the year.
  • Take Action – Pick one distinction from each GROWTH activity and commit to putting it into action
  • Enjoy The Process – Pick GROWTH activities you enjoy. This time is about you and for you…grow with it!
