Take A Breath

STOP…TAKE A BREATH…literally and figuratively.

As January comes to a close and you are feverishly implementing your plan for the New Year it is easy to get into the habit of “one more thing.”  You know when you add “one more thing” to your “to do” list (of course you don’t have a “to do” list because you use RPM), the “one more thing” you fit in before the meeting, the “one more thing” you need to get done before you leave the office, the “one more thing” you squeeze in before dinner, the “one more thing” you should do before bed…the idea of “one more thing” is a lie we tell ourselves because there is always more than “one more thing” and it quickly becomes overwhelming.

SO STOP….YES NOW….STOP…AND TAKE A BREATH.

A REAL BREATH…A DEEP BREATH…ONE THAT COMES FROM YOUR BELLY NOT YOUR CHEST…

FEEL THE AIR AS IT FLOWS THROUGH YOUR NOSE AND INTO YOUR STOMACH…HOLD IT….HOLD IT…HOLD IT…AND RELEASE.

We all know we need oxygen to survive but we take for granted the massive benefit of TAKING A BREATH.  As a society we have become human doings instead human beings.  It’s important to pause during the day to be.  Be in the moment.  Appreciate the smells, the sounds, and all the gifts that surround you.  Breathe in and be grateful for everything in your world.

Besides the psychological benefits of TAKING A BREATH, the physical benefits are huge.  Most people are shallow breathers.  As result we are not getting enough oxygen to optimize our body and increase our energy.  Have you noticed while you are  in the midst of doing your “one more thing” you are exhausted.  It’s because you are not feeding your body it’s most essential element – oxygen.  We can live weeks without food, days without water but only moments without oxygen.  STOP AND TAKE A BREATH.

Use Tony’s “Power of Breath” to increase your energy TODAY.  You have to breathy anyway, isn’t it worth a try?

The most effective way to breath in order to cleanse your system is to:
1.  Inhale through your nose for one count.
2.  Hold for four counts.
3.  Exhale for two counts.

For example inhale for 5, hold for 20 and exhale for 10.  (It’s important to start the breathing from your abdomen not your chest.)  Do this for 5 days and share your results with me via email or on facebook.
